Sports Desk || Bangladesh made an impressive start to their first Test in Australia in 23 years, taking four wickets in the opening session in Darwin.After losing the toss and being asked to field, Bangladesh reduced Australia to 74 for 4 at lunch after 22 overs at Marrara Stadium. Hasan Mahmud claimed two wickets, while Taskin Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain took one each.Steven Smith was unbeaten on seven at the interval.Taskin and Hasan opened the bowling for Bangladesh and immediately troubled the Australian batters. With grass on the Darwin pitch, the pacers found movement and bounce with the new ball.Hasan struck first in the 12th over, dismissing Jake Weatherald for 23. The opener edged a drive outside off stump and Litton Das took a comfortable catch behind the stumps.Hasan then produced another breakthrough in the 14th over, bowling Travis Head for 22. A delivery that came in from around off stump beat Head's bat and crashed into the stumps.Hasan finished his first seven overs with two wickets for 25 runs.Ebadot then added to Australia's problems in the 19th over, dismissing Marnus Labuschagne for just one. Labuschagne edged a ball he could have left alone to Najmul Hossain at second slip. Ebadot celebrated with his trademark salute.Australia lost three wickets for just 16 runs in a span of 40 balls as Bangladesh's fast bowlers maintained consistent lines and lengths.Taskin then dismissed Cameron Green for 13 before lunch, further tightening Bangladesh's grip on the session.Bangladesh, however, missed a chance to remove the dangerous Smith early. Tanzid Hasan dropped a low chance at third slip off Ebadot in the 17th over. The opportunity could prove costly if Smith goes on to make a substantial score.
