Two Killed, Three Injured as Bus, Cattle-Laden Truck Collide in Kaliakair

Two people were killed and
three others injured after a passenger bus collided with a cattle-laden truck
in the Kaliakair bypass area of the Dhaka-Tangail Highway on Saturday
afternoon.One cow died and five others
were injured in the accident.According to police and local
sources, the cattle-laden truck lost control and rammed into the rear of a
passenger bus on the bypass road. The front portion of the truck was badly
mangled in the collision, leaving two people dead on the spot.Locals identified the deceased
as cattle trader Hanif, 30,
and truck driver Alamgir, 30.The accident also left three
people injured. They were rescued and taken to a hospital for treatment.One cow died at the scene,
while five others sustained injuries.Jafar Ali Khan, officer-in-charge
of Naojor Highway Police Station, confirmed that two people were killed on the
spot.The bodies were sent to the
morgue of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur for
autopsy.
