International Desk || Laxmanan Meiyappan has been recognised by Guinness World Records as the world’s youngest male chartered accountant, achieving the feat at the age of 16 years and 141 days in Dubai.His journey into finance began after completing his Class 10 board exams during the Covid-19 pandemic. At 15, Meiyappan started studying for the ACCA qualification and completed it in about a year.He later earned the CFA charter and is currently pursuing an MSc in Finance. He also works as a senior research analyst at Century Financial in Dubai, focusing on investment research, analysis and financial-market decisions.Meiyappan’s interest in accounting developed during the pandemic. According to an earlier PwC Academy profile, his mother, who is also an ACCA professional, introduced him to basic accounting concepts during the Covid-19 lockdown.Beyond academics and finance, Meiyappan enjoys designing and making watches in his spare time.Speaking about his Guinness World Records recognition, Meiyappan said the achievement was meaningful to him, but he never viewed qualifications as a competition.“For me, what mattered was understanding how finance works in the real world and building skills that remain relevant over time,” he said.Source: NDTV
