Two Narsingdi Leaders Take Charge of Key Ministries
Dulal Sorkar , Reporter ||
Two leaders from
Narsingdi have taken charge of two important ministries of the government,
raising expectations among residents for improved public services and
development across the district.Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain
Bokul was given charge of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare when the
BNP government was formed. Later, in the latest cabinet reshuffle on August 21,
Dr Abdul Moin Khan was appointed full minister of the Ministry of Local
Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.The appointments have drawn
particular attention in Narsingdi as both ministries have a direct impact on
people's everyday lives- from local infrastructure and rural development to
healthcare services.Dr Abdul Moin Khan is
associated with the Narsingdi-2 constituency, while Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain
Bokul represents Narsingdi-4, comprising Monohardi and Belabo upazilas.Local residents hope the two
ministers will give priority to long-standing development needs, including
better road connectivity in remote areas, rural infrastructure and improved
public services.There are also growing
expectations in the health sector. Residents want hospitals and health centres
in Narsingdi to receive adequate medical equipment and manpower, while calling
for an expansion of healthcare facilities and services.Development observers believe
the presence of two Narsingdi leaders in key ministries could create an
opportunity for greater coordination in addressing the district's
infrastructure, healthcare, employment and rural development needs.For residents, the key
question now is whether the two ministers can translate these expectations into
visible improvements in public services and development.
