Popular singer-songwriter
Bappa Mazumder has released a new song, ‘Gole
Jaoa Shomoy’, reflecting on the passage of time and the
emotions it leaves behind.Bappa wrote, composed and
arranged the song, in addition to lending his voice to the track. The
accompanying music video was directed by filmmaker Masud Hasan Ujjal and was released
on Saturday night. The lyrics draw on the
fleeting nature of time and the impossibility of returning to the past. Lines
such as “Like sand slipping through the hand, time melts away; like the
hands of a clock, it keeps moving” capture the song’s central theme. In recent months, Bappa has
increasingly turned to writing songs himself. He said that although he has
worked with many lyricists throughout his career, he felt the need to put his
own thoughts and experiences into words.Ujjal, who does not usually
direct music videos, took on the project after being impressed by the song. The new release follows
Bappa’s ‘Buro Nabiker Golpo’,
released about a month ago, which was also written and composed by the singer.
He plans to continue releasing songs from his own writing and composition.
