South Korea to open visa application centre in Dhaka from Sept 2

The
Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bangladesh is set to open a Korea Visa
Application Centre (KVAC) in Dhaka from September 2, aiming to streamline the
visa application process and improve service efficiency.The
centre will begin operations at B&T Nehalia Tower on Kamal Ataturk Avenue
in Dhaka.According
to the Korean Embassy, once the KVAC becomes operational, applications for
ordinary visas and the return of passports will be handled exclusively through
the centre.However,
applications for diplomatic and official visas, confirmed through diplomatic
notes, will continue to be submitted directly to the embassy. The relevant
passports will also be collected from the embassy as before.Under
the new system, applicants seeking ordinary visas through the KVAC will have to
make appointments online. The embassy said it will issue a separate notice on
Thursday, August 27, detailing the appointment schedule and application
procedure.Services
related to notarisation and police clearance certificates will continue to be
provided by the embassy as before.The
embassy said further details on the formal inauguration of the KVAC, operating
hours, online appointment process, visa application procedures, required
documents and applicable fees will be announced separately.Visa
applicants have been advised to follow the embassy’s upcoming notices and
verify the latest information before submitting their applications.
