International Desk || Iran’s security chief Mohsen Rezaei has denied reports of an alleged plot to assassinate US President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, calling the claim completely false.In an interview broadcast by Lebanon’s Al Manar TV on Thursday, Rezaei rejected the report, a clarification that is expected to ease tensions surrounding the issue.The controversy began after Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB Channel 3 aired a three-minute video on Monday titled, “Where and how should Barron Trump be killed?”The video, carried by media linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), claimed that intelligence had been used to closely monitor the 20-year-old Barron. It reportedly showed details of his residence in Washington, university, regular travel routes and the security arrangements provided by the US Secret Service.The report also claimed that a $10 million bounty had been offered for Barron’s killing, although it did not identify who or which organisation had allegedly offered the money.The video prompted widespread concern, with the US Secret Service confirming that it was aware of the material and was taking any potential threat seriously.Experts, however, have described the video as propaganda rather than credible intelligence, arguing that it was intended to exert psychological pressure on Trump and his family.The incident also follows a similar video targeting US First Lady Melania Trump that was reportedly circulated by Tasnim News Agency, which is linked to the IRGC, about a month earlier.The latest video targeting Barron is being viewed by experts as part of the same propaganda network and strategy.Sources: NDTV, Reuters
