Tarique Rahman hands over jobs to 74 families of enforced disappearance, July uprising victims

Tarique Rahman has handed appointment letters to 74 family members of victims
of enforced disappearances and those killed or injured during the July
uprising.At a ceremony held at
the Karabi Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon on Saturday
afternoon, Tarique Rahman personally handed appointment letters to 10
recipients, according to his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.Among those appointed
were Ishfaq Ahmed, brother of enforced disappearance victim Iftekhar Ahmed
Dinar; Moniruzzaman Hira, brother of Nuruzzaman Jony; Anan Hossain Noor,
brother of Anwar Hossain Mahbub; Hasnain Reza, brother of Selim Reza Pintu; and
Shammi Sultana, wife of Khaled Hossain Sohel.Others included
visually impaired July uprising fighter Alal Ahmed, Md Abul Hossain, father of
martyred Alvi; Jartaj Parvin, mother of martyred Ahnaf; injured fighter Kazi
Saimum Siraj; and Mahbub Alam, brother of injured fighter Israfil Islam. The
name of Momtaz Hossain, father of martyred Anvir, was also mentioned at the
event.Several recipients,
including Ishfaq Ahmed, Shammi Sultana, Alal Ahmed, Momtaz Hossain, Jartaj
Parvin and Kazi Saimum Siraj, expressed gratitude to the prime minister. They
also demanded justice for those allegedly responsible for enforced
disappearances and killings.The event was
moderated by Atikur Rahman Rumon, convener of ‘Amra BNP Paribar’ and additional
press secretary to the prime minister. Family members of victims of enforced
disappearance and the July uprising shared their experiences and expressed
their feelings before the prime minister.Cabinet Secretary
Nasimul Gani, Principal Secretary A B M Abdus Sattar, Press Secretary Saleh
Shibli and other senior officials were also present.
