International Desk || The death toll from a Russian drone strike that triggered a massive explosion and fire at a warehouse near Kyiv has risen to 37, Ukrainian officials said on Saturday.The warehouse, located in Mila in Bucha district on the western outskirts of Kyiv, was storing explosive materials. Following the drone attack, a large blast occurred and fire spread to nearby homes and a restaurant.Kyiv regional governor Timur Tkachenko said at least 50 residential buildings were damaged and 42 people were injured. More than 380 people were evacuated from the affected area.Among those killed was Taras Didych, mayor of Dmytrivska village.President Volodymyr Zelensky said the warehouse explosion occurred close to a residential area, where storing ammunition is not permitted. Ukrainian prosecutors have launched an investigation into whether the storage of explosive materials was authorised and whether the facility had the necessary permits.Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia launched at least two missiles and 267 drones between late Friday and Saturday morning. Three more people were killed in attacks elsewhere in Kyiv, including a two-year-old child and a 14-year-old girl.Meanwhile, Ukrainian drone attacks reportedly killed at least three people and injured nine in Russia’s Belgorod region.
