Dengue claims another life at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital

A 39-year-old man has died of
dengue while undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).The deceased, Abdul Hannan,
was a resident of Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila. He died at around 6:40pm on
Sunday, hospital authorities said.RMCH spokesperson Dr Sheikh
Shamim Ahmed said Abdul Hannan was admitted to the hospital at 3:54am on Sunday
after being diagnosed with dengue.His condition deteriorated as
he developed dengue shock syndrome, and he died while receiving treatment, the
spokesperson said.Meanwhile, 25 new dengue
patients were admitted to RMCH over the past 24 hours. During the same period,
17 patients were discharged from the hospital.
As of Monday, 47 dengue patients were undergoing
treatment at the hospital, according to RMCH authorities.
