Faisal Ahmed Sweet, Reporter || The Election Commission has set September 7 as the deadline for voters seeking to change their voter area due to a change of residence ahead of the upcoming local government elections.The information was disclosed in a letter signed on Wednesday by Md Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, senior assistant secretary of the Election Commission.According to the letter, the deadline for issuing applications submitted for voter transfer is September 9, while the applications must be processed by September 10.The Election Commission has fixed the schedule to receive and dispose of applications for voter transfers resulting from changes in voters’ places of residence in preparation for the local government elections. Voters who have shifted their residence and wish to update their voter area accordingly will have to submit their applications within the stipulated deadline.
