International Desk || Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has criticised what he described as European countries’ double standards over the regional situation, accusing them of remaining silent or pursuing a policy of appeasement toward US and Israeli actions against Iran.Araghchi made the remarks during a meeting with Dutch Foreign Minister Tom de Bruijn on the sidelines of the ongoing UN General Assembly session.Iran’s criticismAccording to Araghchi, European countries claim to uphold the rule of law and human rights while remaining indifferent to, or supporting, what he described as “overt military aggression” by the United States and Israel against Iran.He also accused European governments of failing to respond adequately to what Tehran considers aggressive actions and violations by Washington and Tel Aviv.Dutch call for diplomacyDuring the meeting, De Bruijn emphasised the importance of diplomacy in addressing the regional crisis.
