Dulal Sorkar , Reporter || BELABO, Narsingdi- With the Union Parishad election approaching, Md Khalil Ullah Tapon has emerged as one of the names being discussed locally as a potential candidate for chairman of Amlab Union in Belabo upazila.Tapon has maintained communication with residents in different villages of the union and has been involved in various social activities, according to local residents. His presence in community-level activities has contributed to discussions about his possible candidacy, they said.Some residents said they want a chairman who remains accessible to people and works to improve local infrastructure, education, healthcare and civic services. A section of them views Tapon's potential candidacy positively, they added.Tapon said that if elected, he would give priority to the views and needs of residents while working to improve development and public services in the union.People's trust and affection are a major responsibility for any candidate. I want to remain beside the people and work for them. If given the opportunity, I will make every effort for the development and welfare of Amlab Union, he said. Discussions over potential candidates are continuing at the local level. As election activities gather pace, the positions of the candidates and expectations of voters are expected to become clearer.
