Faisal Ahmed Sweet, Reporter || Dhaka North Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Dr Rezaul Karim on Sunday visited a health centre in Mirpur that was vandalised and looted, and called for those responsible for the attacks to be identified and brought to justice.During the visit, he said the health centre in Mirpur-1 had been extensively damaged after attackers vandalised and looted the facility. Soon afterwards, he said, gunfire, vandalism and looting were reported at the establishment of content creator Salman Muqtadir, who was associated with the July movement.Rezaul Karim said they visited the sites to assess the situation firsthand. He added that Dhaka North Jamaat Ameer Md Selim Uddin, who is currently abroad, had also been following the developments and condemned the incidents.The Jamaat leader said media reports had raised allegations of the involvement of a lawmaker from a reserved women’s seat in the attack on the Mirpur health centre. However, he called for all those involved to be brought to justice regardless of their political affiliation.“Whoever is responsible, regardless of which political party they belong to, must be brought under the law. Terrorists have no political party,” he said.Rezaul Karim said Jamaat-e-Islami was not against any political party but opposed injustice, discrimination and oppression. He said the party would work to establish people’s rights and empowerment. Jamaat’s Dhaka North Assistant Secretary Yasin Arafat, talk-show personality Dr Faizul Haque, Metropolitan Youth Department Secretary Dr Mostafa Parvez Faisal and local leaders were present during the visit.
