Sports Desk || Australia have been hit by an injury concern ahead of their two-match Test series against Bangladesh, with wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis facing uncertainty over his availability for the opening match.The first Test of the World Test Championship series will begin on August 13 at the TIO Stadium in Darwin, marking Australia’s first home Test series against Bangladesh in 23 years.Inglis suffered a back spasm on the opening day of Australia’s preparation camp for the series. Cricket Australia’s medical team is monitoring his condition closely.The Australian team management is taking a cautious approach as Inglis has previously experienced similar injury issues. If he fails to recover in time, Cricket Australia could add a replacement player to the squad.Inglis has played five Tests for Australia so far, scoring 184 runs in seven innings, including a century. In first-class cricket, he has scored 3,344 runs in 65 matches, with six centuries and 12 half-centuries.He made headlines during his Test debut against Sri Lanka in Galle in 2025, scoring a century off just 90 balls — the second-fastest hundred by a batter on Test debut in cricket history.Alex Carey remains Australia’s first-choice wicketkeeper for the Bangladesh series, while Inglis is his backup.
