Dulal Sorkar , Reporter || Ahsan Habib Biplob, convener of Belabo Upazila BNP, has been appointed political adviser to Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain Bokul, Minister for Health and Family Welfare.A seasoned BNP leader, Biplob is widely regarded by grassroots activists as a committed and battle-tested politician who has remained actively involved in the party’s political movements through challenging times.A former chairman of Belabo, Biplob has built a strong political presence in the upazila through years of engagement with party workers and local communities. His supporters say his popularity has grown steadily across Belabo because of his continued involvement in grassroots politics and his close connection with ordinary people.During the previous authoritarian regime, Biplob faced political harassment and persecution for his involvement in BNP activities. Despite pressure and adversity, he remained active in the party’s organisational and political programmes.His supporters describe him as a dedicated BNP activist who has consistently stood beside party leaders and workers during difficult periods. They also credit him for maintaining strong grassroots connections and playing an active role in strengthening the party’s organisation in Belabo.His appointment as political adviser to Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain Bokul is being viewed by local BNP leaders and activists as recognition of his long political journey and grassroots contribution. Local party leaders expressed hope that Biplob will use his new responsibility to strengthen political coordination and contribute to public welfare, particularly for the people of Belabo and the wider Narsingdi region.
