Jamaat-led 11-Party Alliance Holds Rally in Dhaka Demanding Implementation of Referendum Verdict

The Jamaat-e-Islami-led 11-party alliance held a mass rally at the south gate
of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital on Wednesday, demanding
the implementation of what it described as the "referendum verdict"
while marking the second anniversary of the July mass uprising.The programme
officially began at around 10:30am with the recitation of the
Holy Quran. However, leaders and activists of the alliance had started
gathering at the venue well before the event commenced.Leader of the
Opposition and Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman is scheduled to
address the rally as the chief guest.The rally is being
chaired by Maulana
Mamunul Haque, Ameer of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis. Top leaders
of the 11-party alliance are also expected to deliver speeches.Many senior leaders
had already taken their seats on the stage before the formal inauguration of
the programme.
