Ashikur Rahman Ashik, Staff Reporter || A 22-year-old man was found hanging from a tree in Sirajganj’s Kamarkhanda upazila on the day of his alleged lover’s wedding, police said.The deceased, identified as Rakib Pramanik, son of Sohrab Pramanik of Jotibari village, was recovered from a mango orchard in the area on Thursday afternoon.Before his death, Rakib made several posts on Facebook, where he claimed that he and the young woman were in love. He wrote that her family had arranged her marriage with someone else and said he could not continue living without her.In one of the posts, he blamed the woman’s parents for his decision and mentioned their identities. In another post made a few hours later, Rakib apologised to his parents, saying he had taken the decision without informing anyone and requested forgiveness from his family.Kamarkhanda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hashmat Ali said police were sent to the spot after receiving information. The body was recovered and legal procedures were underway.He added that the actual cause of death would be confirmed after the completion of the investigation.
