Staff Correspondent || A sixth-grade student drowned during a boat trip at Chalan Beel in Singra upazila of Natore on Friday afternoon.The deceased was identified as Apon, 13, son of Alamgir Hossain of Southpara area in Nandigram municipality of Bogura. He was a sixth-grade student of Nandigram Ma KG School.According to local sources, Apon visited Chalan Beel as part of an educational tour with his schoolmates and teachers. Around 1:00pm, he accidentally fell into the water from the boat and went missing.Local residents started a rescue operation after being informed about the incident. After nearly two hours of searching, his body was recovered from the beel around 3:00pm.Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Singra Police Station Rafiqul Islam confirmed the incident.
