India Says It Had No Role in Hasina’s Recent Media Event
International Desk ||
India’s Ministry of External
Affairs has said that the Indian government had no involvement in a recent
event organised by a private media organisation where former prime minister
Sheikh Hasina made remarks about the BNP government.Responding to questions at a
regular media briefing on Friday, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the
programme was entirely a private initiative and had no connection with the
Indian government.“The views expressed at the
forum do not have the support of the Government of India,” Jaiswal said, adding
that New Delhi does not endorse any comments made regarding Bangladesh’s duly
constituted constitutional government.He reiterated that India
remains committed to maintaining a constructive and friendly relationship with
Bangladesh.The statement came after
Sheikh Hasina recently joined a virtual media event from New Delhi, where she
made comments about Bangladesh’s political situation and the BNP government.
