Convener Nahid Islam has called for summoning the Indian High Commission in
Dhaka and seeking an explanation over allegations that former prime minister
Sheikh Hasina was allowed to make remarks as part of a “conspiracy”.He made the remarks on Friday
afternoon while visiting a photo exhibition organised in the capital’s Minto
Road marking the anniversary of the July uprising.Nahid said the spirit of the
July mass uprising has not yet been completed. He claimed that if the verdict
given by the people through the referendum is not implemented quickly, it would
become difficult for the interim government to remain in power. He alleged that the
government has failed to meet public expectations regarding the implementation
of the referendum outcome. He also claimed that signs of political influence
and partisanship are visible in various sectors of the current administration,
similar to the previous Awami League government.Nahid said their movement
would continue until the demands related to implementing the referendum verdict
are fulfilled.Earlier, Bangladesh
Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar and leaders of different
levels of the NCP visited the photo exhibition organised on the July uprising.
