Md Omar Faruk Bhuiyan, a permanent resident of Amlabo Union in Belabo upazila of Narsingdi, has announced his candidacy for the post of chairman in the upcoming Union Parishad election.News of his candidacy has generated enthusiasm among local residents, with many welcoming his decision.Omar Faruk Bhuiyan is known locally as a fearless and honest social worker and businessman. He is also the joint convener of the Belabo upazila unit of Jubo Dal and president of the Amlabo Union unit of the organisation.A local Jubo Dal leader said Omar Faruk had been working for the welfare and improvement of people’s living standards in Amlabo for a long time. His activities, the leader said, have helped him gain recognition and popularity beyond the union and across Belabo upazila.Following the announcement of his candidacy, many local residents have expressed their support. The growing interest among residents has created a festive atmosphere in parts of the union, according to locals.Abdus Salam, a resident of Amlabo Union, said, Omar Faruk Bhuiyan has stood beside local people for a long time. We have found him beside us in both good and difficult times.
