The BNP government is set to make changes to the cabinet in an effort to accelerate government activities. The new cabinet members are scheduled to take oath at Bangabhaban’s Darbar Hall this evening.The Directorate of Government Transport has already prepared six vehicles for the oath-taking ceremony, according to a senior official of the directorate.The official told the media that the Cabinet Division had requested six vehicles, which were subsequently sent to the division. However, the Cabinet Division will determine how many of them will ultimately be used.At least four names have emerged as potential new members of the cabinet. They are BNP Standing Committee member and lawmaker Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Jatiya Party Chairman Barrister Andalib Rahman Partha, Bandarban lawmaker Saching Prue Jerry, and Gaibandha-4 lawmaker Mohammad Shamim Kaiser Lincoln.According to sources in the Cabinet Division, the new cabinet members will take oath immediately after the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected president at Bangabhaban this evening.The BNP formed the government after securing an absolute majority in the 13th parliamentary election. Initially, a 50-member cabinet, including the prime minister, was formed, with 25 ministers and 24 state ministers taking oath. The induction of the new members is set to bring changes to the cabinet.
