The Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy is organising a three-day film festival under the theme “Cinema for All, Art and Culture for All.”Titled ‘Film Festival: Ekhal-Sekal’, the festival will run from August 9 to 11 at the National Film Auditorium in the capital. All screenings will be open to audiences free of charge.On the opening day, August 9, ‘Roid’, directed by Mezbaur Rahman Suman, will be screened at 6:00pm. The film, which received praise at home and abroad after its release during Eid-ul-Azha, stars Mostafizur Noor Imran and Nazifa Tushi.At 8:00pm, audiences will have the opportunity to watch Zahir Raihan’s landmark film ‘Jibon Theke Neya’. The cast includes legendary actors such as Razzak, Suchanda, Rosie Samad, Khan Ataur Rahman, Raushan Jamil and Anwar Hossain.On August 10, the second day of the festival, Khan Ataur Rahman’s ‘Abar Tora Manush Ho’ will be screened at 5:30pm. At 8:00pm, the audience will watch ‘Mastul’, directed by Mohammad Nuruzzaman.The festival will conclude on August 11 with two screenings. Amjad Hossain’s ‘Dui Poishar Alta’ will be shown at 5:30pm, followed by Akash Hossain’s ‘The University of Chankharpul’ at 8:00pm as the closing film.The festival is being organised with the support of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, while the Theatre and Film Department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy is overseeing its overall arrangements.
