Demra AC Land Protests Reports Over Land Mutation, Official Duties

The Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Demra Circle has protested against two recently published reports concerning the official’s discharge of duties and land mutation activities. The reports, published by a national daily and an online news outlet, raised allegations of land mutation despite a court stay order and alleged financial irregularities. The AC Land’s side has termed the reports one-sided, misleading and published without proper verification of relevant facts and documents.According to the written response, the concerned AC Land has been working to protect government property, remove illegal encroachments and safeguard state interests since assuming office. It was also claimed that government land recovered through field-level drives was marked with official signboards, some of which were later removed at night. The AC Land’s side further alleged that an interested group has been providing misleading information to the media in an attempt to obstruct government efforts to recover public property. It also alleged that pressure was being exerted through media reports and that financial benefits had been demanded. The concerned AC Land said, There will always be obstacles when you do good work. I will continue working for the state and public interest, overcoming all obstacles. The response urged media outlets to verify relevant documents, court orders and statements from concerned parties before publishing allegations. It also said legal action would be considered following an investigation into the allegations and claims of financial demands.
