Seven more people died of dengue across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, while 1,753 patients were admitted to hospitals with the viral disease during the same period.With the latest deaths, the number of dengue fatalities in the country has reached 171 this year. The total number of patients hospitalised with dengue has risen to 56,916, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).The figures were released in a dengue-related press statement issued today by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the DGHS.Of the newly hospitalised patients, 186 were reported in Barishal Division, 177 in Chattogram Division, 394 in Dhaka Division outside the city corporations, 175 in Dhaka North City Corporation, and 174 in Dhaka South City Corporation.Meanwhile, 349 new patients were admitted in Khulna Division, 83 in Mymensingh Division, 53 in Rangpur Division and nine in Sylhet Division. The latest figures indicate that dengue continues to place significant pressure on hospitals across different parts of the country, with new cases being reported from both urban and rural areas.
