Police have arrested three people and recovered 224 kilogrammes of cannabis, a pistol, a magazine, bullets and an Android mobile phone during an operation in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi.Raipura police conducted the drive in the area on Monday and seized the drugs and firearms, according to police.The recovered items include 224kg of cannabis, one pistol, one magazine, ammunition and an Android mobile phone.The arrests come amid growing concern among local residents over the alleged spread of drugs and illegal firearms in different parts of Raipura.Police said legal action is being taken against the three detainees in connection with the recovery. Local residents have urged the authorities to strengthen anti-drug and anti-arms operations in the area to curb the circulation of illegal drugs and firearms.
