Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain Bokul has called for a zero tolerance policy against drugs to protect the future generation from the growing threat of substance abuse.We must eliminate drugs. Otherwise, our future generation will be ruined, and mothers and sisters will not be able to move around safely and freely, he said.The minister made the remarks while addressing a discussion and rally organised by the Belabo upazila BNP and its affiliated and associate organisations on Tuesday morning, marking the 48th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).Bokul said Tarique Rahman is currently leading the party. He also prayed for the eternal peace of the souls of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.He paid tribute to BNP leaders and activists who died since the party's inception, acknowledging their contributions to the organisation.Following the discussion, a colourful rally was brought out. It passed through the main roads of the area before ending in front of the Upazila Parishad premises.Later, the minister and party leaders released fish fry into the Arial Khan River in front of the Upazila Parishad and planted saplings on the Upazila Parishad grounds.The discussion was chaired by Md Ahsan Habib Biplob, convener of Belabo upazila BNP and former chairman of the upazila parishad. Joint convener Ataur Rahman Bacchu moderated the programme. Among others, Upazila BNP member secretary MA Kader Jalil, joint conveners Md Abul Kalam Azad, Benzir Ahmed and Matiur Rahman, Belabo upazila Jubo Dal convener Md Aktaruzzaman Aktar, and leaders of different BNP units and affiliated organisations attended the programme.
