Gold Prices Rise Again in Bangladesh, Up by Tk 4,374 per Bhori

Gold prices have increased again in Bangladesh, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) raising the price of gold jewellery by up to Tk 4,374 per bhori including VAT.The new prices came into effect at 10am on Saturday (August 8).According to a BAJUS notice, the decision was taken at a meeting of the association’s Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring at 9am on Saturday.Under the new rates, the price of 22-carat gold, the highest quality, has been set at Tk 234,038 per bhori (11.664 grams) including VAT. The previous price was Tk 229,664, meaning the price has increased by Tk 4,374 per bhori.The new prices for other grades are: 21-carat gold: Tk 223,541 per bhori 18-carat gold: Tk 191,931 per bhori Traditional-method gold: Tk 156,822 per bhori Silver prices unchangedWhile gold prices have increased, BAJUS has kept silver prices unchanged.The current prices per bhori are: 22-carat silver: Tk 4,899 21-carat silver: Tk 4,666 18-carat silver: Tk 4,024 Traditional-method silver: Tk 3,266 Gold prices revised several times this weekBAJUS had previously raised gold prices by up to Tk 9,856 per bhori, including VAT, on August 6.The following day, August 7, it revised the rates downward, reducing the price by up to Tk 3,266 per bhori.Just a day later, gold prices have once again been increased in the domestic market.
