Extensive tree plantation is essential to tackle the impacts of climate change and ensure a liveable environment for future generations, State Minister for Public Administration and Food Abdul Bari said today.He said trees should be planted in a planned manner around government establishments, along roads and beside river embankments to protect the environment and raise public awareness.The state minister also stressed the need for regular care and protection of the saplings after plantation, saying such programmes should continue on a regular basis.He made the remarks while inaugurating a tree plantation programme at Biler Ghat in Khetlal upazila of Joypurhat on Friday afternoon.As part of the programme, 5,000 saplings of different species were planted in the area.
