Mirpur Model Police Station has been recognised as the best police station of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for July, while Mirpur Division was named the best division in the DMP’s monthly crime assessment.The awards were handed over at the monthly crime review meeting for July at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh at around 10:30am on Thursday (August 13). Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir and DMP Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed presented the awards.Mirpur Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hafizur Rahman (PPM) was once again named the DMP’s best OC. This is the 12th consecutive time he has received the award.Hafizur has served in Uttara West, Gulshan, Hazaribagh and, currently, Mirpur Model Police Station. He was recognised for his role in controlling crime and maintaining law and order in the areas under his jurisdiction.Other top performersUttara West Police Station ranked second, while Badda Police Station secured third place in the crime division assessment.Among assistant commissioners of police, Demra Zone ACP Md Shamim Hossain secured first place, followed by Mohammadpur Zone ACP Md Abdullah Al Mamun.Pallabi Police Station SI Md Saiful Islam was named the best SI. Bhatara Police Station SI Debashish Mondal ranked second, while Paltan Model Police Station SI Amit Kumar Biswas secured third place.Among assistant sub-inspectors, Jatrabari Police Station ASI Nazmul Islam ranked first and Mohammadpur Police Station ASI Nader Ali ranked second.In the Detective Branch, DB-Wari Division was named the best unit. Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Fazlul Karim, zonal team leader of the Wari Zone Team, was named the best team leader.Traffic-Wari Division was adjudged the best unit in the traffic division. Mirpur Traffic Zone Sergeant Md Samsuddin Sarker ranked first among the best traffic sergeants, while Jatrabari Traffic Zone Sergeant Md Shahriar Khan ranked second.The award motivates me to work harderSpeaking about receiving the best OC award for the 12th consecutive time, Hafizur Rahman (PPM) said, Serving the people is my responsibility and duty. I always try my best to fulfil that responsibility. Such recognition increases my motivation to work several times over.He expressed gratitude to the DMP commissioner, the concerned deputy commissioner and all police personnel of Mirpur Model Police Station for their support.Hafizur said the achievement was the result of a collective effort and sought everyone’s prayers and cooperation to maintain the momentum and further improve the image of the police department through better service.Senior DMP officials, deputy commissioners, additional deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners, officers-in-charge of different police stations and police officials of various ranks attended the monthly crime review meeting.
