Picchi Alamin, a listed top criminal accused of involvement in various criminal activities in Dhaka’s Rampura area, has been arrested along with two associates by an operational team of SRB-3. A foreign-made revolver and five rounds of ammunition were reportedly recovered from his possession.The arrests were made during a raid in the TV Road area under Rampura Police Station at around 1:30pm on Thursday, October 1, 2026, according to information provided by the relevant sources.Picchi Alamin has been accused of collecting extortion money from construction sites, markets, shops, tempo stands, cable television operators and internet service providers in Rampura and surrounding areas.Most recently, on September 27, an internet service provider named Green Zone Online in the Bansree area reportedly came under attack. According to the allegations, the business was asked to pay Tk 20 lakh as a one-time payment, followed by Tk 5 lakh every month to continue operating. The sources also said Picchi Alamin is an accused in the high-profile murder case of Kailla Palash. Further details regarding the allegations against him and his associates, the recovered firearm and the subsequent legal proceedings are yet to be confirmed through an official statement from the relevant authorities.
