Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir organised a 10-day ‘Pre-College Skills Development Training Camp (PCSD) 2026’ for members of the organisation who secured GPA-5 in this year’s SSC and Dakhil examinations.The camp, organised by Shibir’s Central College Department, was held at a venue in Gazipur from August 21 to 30. Hafez Yusuf Islahi, secretary for central college activities of Shibir, conducted the programme.This year’s theme was Strengthening Future Leadership through Integrity and Foresight.According to a press release issued by Shibir on Monday, the intensive camp was organised to help students develop psychological, language and technological skills before entering higher education.A total of 40 classes on English and computer skills were held during the camp. Alongside academic sessions, the programme included Quran recitation, subject-based study sessions, motivational classes and innovative games aimed at developing the participants’ skills.Leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir attended different sessions, including the closing ceremony, and provided guidance to the participants.Jamaat-e-Islami Naib-e-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman MP stressed the importance of self-purification. He said academic and technological skills alone were not enough to face modern challenges and that genuine success required spiritual purity and a strong relationship with the Creator.An ideal future leader needs a combination of sound character and proper guidance, he said.Shibir Central President Nurul Islam said achieving GPA-5 was an important milestone in the students’ lives, but not their ultimate destination.He urged the participants to combine knowledge, skills and moral strength while upholding the theme of the camp.For building a just society in the future, you will have to shoulder the responsibility of providing honest and competent leadership, he said.Former Shibir Central President Delwar Hossain said Bangladesh had enormous potential and that ensuring the proper utilisation of the country’s human resources could help build a developed and prosperous nation. Former central presidents planner Sirajul Islam, Rashedul Islam MP and Zahidul Islam, as well as Secretary General Sibgatullah Sibga, also addressed the programme.
