Police have uncovered a suspected yaba production facility inside a house in the Pink City residential area near the 300 Feet Road in Khilkhet, Dhaka.During a raid on Friday (September 18), police seized 3,500 yaba tablets, 30 bottles of Phensedyl, 350 empty Phensedyl bottles and a machine allegedly used to make yaba.Police arrested Yasin Arafat, 37, from Jessore in connection with the incident. His alleged associate, Zakaria, reportedly escaped by jumping over a wall during the raid. Police said efforts are underway to arrest him.According to police, the house had been rented around eight months ago. Investigators are now looking into how long yaba production had been taking place there, how the raw materials and equipment were brought in, and whether others were involved.Khilkhet Police Station OC Md Sohrab Al Hossain said no one would be allowed to operate a drug production facility in a residential area. He said police are also investigating whether a larger drug network was behind the operation. A case is being processed over the incident.
