Washington, August 3: US President Donald Trump has said Iran now faces only two choices - reaching an agreement with the United States or “complete surrender.”
In
a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump accused Iran’s
leadership of sending contradictory messages by seeking talks while publicly
denying any negotiations and claiming that it is only communicating with Oman.
“
Iran’s leadership is showing unbelievable double behaviour. They want a
meeting, some would say they are requesting one. Talks have started and more
meetings are being scheduled, yet publicly they say no talks are taking place,”
Trump wrote.
Trump
also claimed that although Iran has spoken about controlling the Strait of
Hormuz, the strategic waterway is effectively under the control of the US Navy.
He
said nothing can move toward Iran or leave the country without US approval
unless Washington allows it, describing the situation as continuing until a
deal is reached or Iran fully surrenders.
The
US president again stated that discussions over resolving the issue are
ongoing, regardless of whether Iran acknowledges them. He reiterated that Iran
will never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.
