Bangladesh Police Headquarters has placed all police units across the country on the highest alert following intelligence reports of possible activities by banned organisations.According to police sources, field-level units have been instructed to maintain maximum vigilance to prevent any potential sabotage attempts or attacks targeting police and other government vehicles.The alert issued on Saturday came after intelligence warnings that police jeeps, pick-up trucks, buses and other government vehicles could be targeted in Dhaka and other parts of the country.Under the new security measures, police vehicles stopping during duty hours must be parked only at secure locations. Additional security has also been ordered for government vehicles kept at police stations, police lines, office premises and other designated areas after duty.Police units have been directed to increase patrols, strengthen surveillance and monitor suspicious individuals, vehicles and objects near important installations.Authorities have also instructed officers to immediately report any suspicious activity or intelligence information to senior officials for quick coordination and response.The nationwide alert comes as law enforcement agencies continue efforts to prevent disruptions to public order and protect state property.
