Akhtaruzzaman, a resident of
Gangkulpara village, served in the armed forces for an extended period before
becoming involved in various social welfare activities in his local community.
People familiar with his
activities say his long-standing engagement with residents and involvement in
community work have helped build support for him in the union.
As a local resident,
Akhtaruzzaman has maintained contact with people in the area for years. He now
wants to use his experience of serving the country to work for people at the
local level.
Akhtaruzzaman believes that
maintaining direct communication with residents, listening to their problems
and standing by them are key responsibilities of an elected representative.
If given the opportunity to
serve as chairman, he said he would focus on the welfare and development of the
people of Belabo Sadar Union.
His supporters view his
experience as a former army officer and his involvement in social activities as
positive attributes for local leadership. They also expect effective and
people-oriented leadership to contribute to the union’s development and public
service activities.
Akhtaruzzaman said he hopes to continue working for the development and welfare of Belabo Sadar Union with the trust and support of local residents.
