Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Minister Dr Abdul Moin Khan visited his parliamentary constituency in Palash, Narsingdi, on Wednesday.At the beginning of his visit, Moin Khan visited the graves of his late father, BNP founding member and former minister Abdul Momen Khan, and his mother, Khorsheda Begum. He offered prayers seeking forgiveness and peace for their souls.Later, the minister attended a discussion and prayer programme organised at the Palash Upazila Parishad Auditorium on the occasion of Eid-e-Miladunnabi (SAW).Speaking at the programme, Moin Khan said the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) remain relevant for all of humanity.He said the Prophet’s teachings were based on peace, justice, humanity and harmony.“People should shun division and hatred and follow the teachings of the Prophet. This is how we can build a humane and peaceful society,” he said.He also called upon people to draw inspiration from the Prophet’s life and teachings in their daily lives.Local representatives, political activists, religious scholars and people from different walks of life attended the programme.The event ended with a special prayer seeking peace, prosperity and welfare for the country and its people.
