A seminar on the life and ideals of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was held in Dhaka on Saturday to mark Eid-e-Miladunnabi, where speakers condemned attempts to obstruct the celebration of the occasion.The event, titled The Life and Ideals of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), was organised by the Asheke Rasul General Officials Organisation at the IDEB Auditorium in the capital.Addressing the seminar as chief guest, Imam Prof Dr Qudrat E Khoda stressed love for the Prophet, moral character, self-purification and practising Islamic values in everyday life. He said religious teachings achieve their true purpose when reflected in human character and conduct.The speakers also highlighted the contribution of Syed Mahbub-e-Khoda Dewanbagi to the observance of Eid-e-Miladunnabi in Bangladesh, saying his historical research helped establish 12 Rabiul Awal as the Prophet's birth anniversary and influenced the country's state recognition of the celebration.The seminar was attended by judges, academics, researchers, physicians, lawyers, engineers, government officials and Islamic scholars. It was chaired by former additional secretary Dr Piar Mohammad, convener of ARGOO.
