He also claimed that
power load-shedding has decreased as gas supply has improved.
Rizvi made the
remarks while speaking to reporters after paying tribute at the graves of
Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Khaleda Zia on Sunday
morning.
Addressing the
ongoing energy crisis, Rizvi said the government was not responsible for the situation.
He attributed the crisis to the ongoing war and said a fault had also developed
at the Maheshkhali LNG terminal.
The terminal has
since been repaired, he said.
“An LNG-loaded cargo
has already arrived, increasing pressure on the gas supply,” Rizvi said, adding
that the situation was gradually improving.
On the BNP’s affiliated organisations, Rizvi said expired committees would be dissolved and new committees formed. New leadership would be brought in as part of the ongoing process, he added.
