Bangladesh Receives $406 Million in Remittances in First Three Days of August

Bangladesh received $406 million in remittances during the first three days of August in the 2026-27 fiscal year, marking an 84.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

According to the latest data released by Bangladesh Bank, the country received $220 million in remittances during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

The central bank data showed that remittance inflow stood at $133 million on a single day on August 3.

Meanwhile, total remittance earnings from the beginning of the current fiscal year until August 3 reached $3.265 billion. During the same period last year, the figure was $2.698 billion.

The latest figures indicate that remittance inflow during July 1 to August 3 of the 2026-27 fiscal year increased by 20.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Remittances from Bangladeshi expatriates remain a key source of foreign currency earnings for the country, supporting the economy and strengthening foreign exchange reserves.
