She surrendered before the court on Thursday
morning and sought bail. After a hearing in the afternoon, Dhaka Judicial
Magistrate Mahfuzur Rahman granted her bail against a Tk 500 bond.
On Wednesday (November 4), the same court had
cancelled her bail and issued an arrest warrant after she failed to appear at a
scheduled hearing.
The court was scheduled to record witness
testimony in the case on Wednesday. However, Pori Moni could not attend due to
illness. Her lawyer, Nilanjana Rifat Suravi, submitted a time petition, stating
that the actress was suffering from an allergy-related illness.
Opposing the petition, the complainant's lawyer,
Abul Kalam Mohammad Sohel, alleged that Pori Moni had deliberately avoided
appearing before the court and had repeatedly sought adjournments.
After hearing both sides, the court rejected the time petition, cancelled her bail and issued an arrest warrant. It also fixed December 23 for the next hearing to record witness testimony.
