National Citizen Party (NCP) chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary was allegedly attacked in Kushtia yesterday, days after similar allegations emerged in Jhenaidah and Habiganj. The incident reportedly took place around the Lalon Shah shrine in Kushtia in the evening.
According to sources, Patwary came under attack while
leaving the shrine. He was taking photographs with devotees when the alleged
assault took place. He was reportedly confined to the area for around 30
minutes.
NCP Joint Member Secretary Tarek Reza alleged that BNP activists were behind the attack. In a post on social media, he wrote, After Jhenaidah and Habiganj, NCP’s Nasiruddin Patwary has now come under attack by BNP in Kushtia.
No immediate statement from the BNP was available regarding
the allegation.
Earlier, allegations of attacks on Patwary had also emerged in Jhenaidah and Habiganj. The latest incident in Kushtia has raised fresh concerns over attacks involving political figures during the ongoing political activities.
