The IRGC Aerospace Force said
in a statement that ballistic missiles were fired at a barracks housing US
Marines in Jordan. It claimed that a large number of US military personnel were
killed and several key facilities were destroyed in the attack.
The IRGC also claimed that
several US attack helicopters were destroyed.
According to the Iranian
force, the strikes were carried out in response to a US attack on a wedding
ceremony in southern Iran that killed four people.
In a statement, the IRGC said
that, as part of the second phase of its Operation to Punish the
Aggressor, its Aerospace Force targeted the US Marine base at Camp
Tibtin, located on the coast of Aqaba in Jordan.
The statement claimed that a large number of US soldiers were killed and several important
facilities and attack helicopters were destroyed.
In another statement, the
IRGC said it had carried out a heavy ballistic missile attack on
the Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan.
The target was reportedly a
hangar housing US long-range RQ-4 and MQ-9 drones.
The IRGC claimed that several
drones were destroyed in the attack. It also said that several pilots and
flight technicians were killed.
The Iranian force further
claimed that fires broke out at several technical facilities inside the base.
The claims come amid
escalating tensions between Iran and the United States following the US strike,
with Tehran vowing to retaliate against American military interests in the
region.
