Iran is committed to defending its borders and national security but has no intention of expanding the ongoing conflict, President Masoud Pezeshkian has said.According to Iran's state broadcaster IRIB, the president made the remarks while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the second phase of the National Family Physician and Referral System programme.Pezeshkian said Iran should place greater emphasis on strengthening domestic resilience and national unity under the current circumstances."In the present situation, we must strive to build a society where the enemy has no opportunity to tempt, infiltrate, or divide and destroy our social structure," he said.He added that national unity remains essential to safeguarding the country's security and stability.His comments come amid continuing tensions between Iran and the United States. Tehran has repeatedly said it will take the necessary steps to defend its territory and national interests, while maintaining that it does not seek to widen regional hostilities.
