No one will be spared if people’s rights are undermined: Shafiqul Rahman
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqul Rahman speaks at a rally at Daudkandi Bishwa Road on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway on Saturday.

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and Leader of the Opposition Dr Shafiqul Rahman has warned that no one will be spared if the rights of the people are undermined.

He made the remarks while addressing a brief rally at Daudkandi Bishwa Road on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway around 10:30am on Saturday, as part of the 11-party alliance’s long march towards Chattogram.

We stand for the 180 million people of Bangladesh. This programme is aimed at securing the demands of the people, Shafiqul Rahman said.

He warned that those who play with people’s rights would not be spared.

The Jamaat chief also criticised extortion and corruption, saying people were suffering due to extortionists and that their rights were being looted by corrupt individuals.

There is no gas, no water and no electricity, but gas bills are being issued as usual. There are also inflated electricity bills, he said.

He called on the government to stop subjecting people to such harassment.
