He was taken to Shifa
International Hospital late Thursday night under tight security following a
Supreme Court order. After undergoing medical tests, he was returned to Adiala
Jail early Friday.

Minister Attaullah Tarar said a team of specialists in ophthalmology,
cardiology and medicine examined Khan and declared him medically fit.
In a post on X, Tarar
said the prisoner was taken to the hospital between August 20 and 21 in
accordance with the Supreme Court's directions and under necessary security
arrangements. He did not mention Khan's name or the hospital in the post.
Khan's sister Uzma
Khan was present during the medical examination. He was taken back to Adiala
Jail at around 5am on Friday.
Khan was taken to
the hospital through Patras Bukhari Road and entered through Gate 1. A large
number of law enforcement personnel were deployed around the hospital in
Islamabad's H-8 sector.
Khan has been in
jail since August 5, 2023, over allegations related to concealment of
information about Toshakhana gifts. He is currently serving a 14-year sentence
in the Al-Qadir Trust case at Adiala Jail.
PTI leaders and
supporters have repeatedly expressed concern over his health while he has been
in prison.
