The research findings were
presented at a programme titled “From
Research to Reality: How We Built the EV/PHEV Feasibility Project”
held at AIUB. The event also featured discussions on information technology and
artificial intelligence.
Shah Tajul Islam Rumel,
Managing Director of 3Leaf Technologies Limited, attended the programme as the
chief guest. AIUB’s vice-chancellor, teachers, researchers, special guests and
students also participated in the event. Recognition plaques were presented to
those involved in the research and innovation activities.
Speaking at the programme,
Rumel stressed the importance of proper research and feasibility studies before
undertaking major projects.
“Sound research can turn a promising idea into a
practical, effective and sustainable project,” he said.
He said research on EVs and
PHEVs as alternatives to three-wheeled rickshaws was timely for Bangladesh.
Such initiatives could help promote cleaner transport, reduce dependence on
imported fuel, improve energy security, and support safer and smarter urban
mobility.
Rumel also emphasised
stronger collaboration between universities and industries to turn young
researchers’ ideas into practical solutions.
“Research should not remain confined to academic
papers. Its benefits must reach society through practical implementation,”
he said.
3Leaf Technologies also
expressed interest in working with AIUB faculty members, researchers and
students on technology, artificial intelligence, innovation and sustainable
mobility.
Speakers at the event said
stronger university-industry collaboration could create new opportunities to
apply research-based knowledge to real-world challenges.
They also noted that research on EVs and PHEVs
could open up new possibilities for Bangladesh’s future transport and urban
development, while encouraging young people to engage more actively in research
and innovation.
