The song, titled Ae Meri
Zindagi, Tu Chhupi Hai Kahan, will be released as part of the
much-anticipated drama-comedy film Om Ka Hari, the filmmakers
announced on Thursday.
The song was recorded towards
the end of 2023, when Bhosle was in her 90s. She died in April this year at the
age of 92.
Directed by Harish Vyas, Om
Ka Hari explores the relationship between a father and son, focusing on
generational differences, family conflicts and emotions that often remain
unspoken. The film stars Anshuman Jha, Raghubir Yadav, Soni Razdan and Ayesha
Kapur.
Director Harish Vyas said
releasing the song on Bhosle’s birthday is a tribute to her timeless voice,
extraordinary body of work and the generations of listeners whose lives were
touched by her music.
The filmmakers said the song
celebrates the importance of love, expressing emotions and finding joy in life,
while also serving as a lasting reminder of Bhosle’s musical legacy.
Bhosle ruled Indian cinema
for more than seven decades and recorded over 12,000 songs. Some of her most
celebrated tracks include Dum Maro Dum, Piya Tu Ab To Aaja, Chura
Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko and Yeh Mera Dil.
Actor Anshuman Jha said
Bhosle’s voice adds a deeply personal dimension to the film. He described Om
Ka Hari as a special project because it highlights the importance of
telling one’s parents, “I love you something he never had the opportunity to
say to his own father.
Jha said being able to feature Bhosle’s immortal voice in one of the film’s most emotional moments was among the most profound and memorable experiences of his career.
