Four alleged members of a motorcycle theft syndicate were arrested in separate raids in Dhaka’s Bangshal and Brahmanbaria’s Bancharampur, the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police said.The DB’s Wari Division also recovered 16 stolen motorcycles of different brands during the drives.The arrested men are Md Sajib, 28, Md Nishan Ahmed, 25, Rubel Ahmed, 38, and Nitya Sarker, 19.According to DMP, a team from the Organised Crime and Vehicle Theft Prevention Unit of DB Wari conducted a raid on Mokim Bazar Road in Bangshal on August 18 following a tip-off. Sajib and Nishan were arrested during the operation.Based on information obtained from them, the team later conducted another operation in Bancharampur of Brahmanbaria and arrested Rubel Ahmed and Nitya Sarker, along with other alleged members of the syndicate.The recovered motorcycles include Suzuki Gixxer, Honda X-Blade, Yamaha FZS, TVS Raider, Royal Enfield, Honda CBR and Yamaha R15 models.A case was filed with Bangshal Police Station on August 19 under Section 413 of the Penal Code, 1860, against the arrested individuals and over the recovered motorcycles, police said.
